Language will not be an obstacle

Working in an urban setting offers unique challenges. One challenge is language. I love, LOVE teaching my English Language Learners (ELL) students. They inspire me daily. I didn't begin the school year using Mindset Magic with them because I was concerned about how to present the information. They are in Sheltered Chemistry because their English language skills are still in development. The last thing I want to do is offer a wonderful tool in a way that overwhelms them.

Last Friday I had a huge a-ha! moment. GOOGLE TRANSLATOR! I took my Mindset Magic daily work and translated it into their native languages (Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic). I presented the work to them yesterday. They were a little confused at first, but once I explained why I think this is important to do every day, and that I do the work, too, they embraced it.
